Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

When I was 8 years old, I had an orchiopexy to correct an undescended right testicle. Now, at 19 years old, I’ve noticed that my penis is twisted, and my right testicle seems to be attached to the base of the penis. I understand that orchiopexy is usually done between 6 to 12 months of age, and I am wondering if this delayed procedure might be the cause. Is there any surgery or treatment available to straighten my penis and reposition my right testicle so that it hangs like the left one? Additionally, I’ve also noticed that my right testicle is smaller than the left one. Can you provide any advice on this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

1. Yes, a urologist can assess your situation and may recommend revising the orchiopexy. This procedure could help address the issues you're experiencing, such as the twisted penis and the positioning of the right testicle.

2. The urologist may also evaluate the size discrepancy between the two testicles and determine if any further interventions are necessary. It's important to consult with a specialist who can provide personalized advice and treatment options based on your specific condition.

Thanks
