Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I'm 18 years old and suffering from chronic sinusitis. I often experience sneezing spells, especially when I haven't slept well at night. Even if I try to catch up on sleep during the day, the problem persists. What medications can help alleviate my symptoms?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It's essential to consider other factors besides sinusitis that could be causing your symptoms, such as allergic rhinitis. Here are some recommendations:

- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

- Avoid cold beverages, spicy, oily, and fried foods.

- Wear a mask when dusting or sweeping to minimize exposure to allergens.

- Take breaks from air-conditioned spaces to get fresh air outdoors regularly.

- Ensure regular washing of bedsheets, pillow covers, doormats, and floor mats in warm water.

As for treatment:

- Take Tab Levosiz M once at night for 10 days.

- Take Tab Roxid M 150 1-0-1 for 5 days after breakfast and dinner.

- Use Flomist nasal spray, 1 puff in each nostril twice a day for 1 month.

These measures should help alleviate your symptoms and improve your overall comfort. However, if your symptoms persist or worsen, it's advisable to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation and guidance.

Thanks
