Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I think of when you're swimming and the chlorine gets in your nose and burns— that's what happens to my nose nearly every day, but it's way more intense, and it’s around my nasal bone. I also have to be careful with how much I lift my head or lower it because if I do too much of either, the intense burning starts. I just wanted to check if this is normal or not.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Experiencing intense burning in your nose, especially around the nasal bone, and having it triggered by moving your head in certain ways isn't normal. This sensation can be caused by various factors, such as sinus issues, nasal inflammation, or irritation of the nasal passages. Given the intensity and frequency of your symptoms, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional. They can assess whether this might be related to a sinus infection, nasal polyps, or another underlying condition that may require treatment. Addressing this early could help prevent further complications.

Thanks
