Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have a red bump with a white surface right beside/above my clitoris area. It appeared a couple of days ago and feels slightly tender to the touch. There's no itching, but it's a bit sore when I press on it. I'm not sure if it's an ingrown hair, a pimple, or something more concerning. Should I be worried?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

A physical examination is necessary to determine the exact cause of the bump. It could be something benign like an ingrown hair, a cyst, or a small abscess, but other possibilities, including infections or dermatological conditions, should also be considered. If the bump persists, changes in size, or becomes more painful, a biopsy may be recommended to rule out any serious concerns. I advise scheduling a check-up for proper evaluation and management.

Thanks
