Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I already had my period this month. My husband and I are trying to conceive, but he is currently away and will return on the first of February for a few days. Is there a way for me to get my period again this month?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

If you are trying to conceive, it’s best to avoid taking medication to alter your cycle dates. In a 28-day menstrual cycle, the most fertile period is usually the 14 days in the middle, with ovulation occurring around day 14. Understanding your cycle and timing intercourse around ovulation can increase your chances of pregnancy. Medications used to adjust period dates contain hormones, and it is not recommended to use them if you are planning for a baby.

Thanks
