Hello Doctor,
I’ve noticed some cauliflower-like bumps at the tip of my penis, around the hole where urine comes out. I first saw them last month and hoped they’d go away, but they’ve gotten worse. Last night during oral sex, one of the bumps started bleeding looked like it got cut. I’m really worried now. What could this be, and how can I get help to treat it?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out Dr. Galen, Please find the below response to your query.
1. The bumps you described sound like genital warts, commonly caused by HPV. They often look like cauliflower and can bleed if irritated during sexual activity. You should see a doctor or visit a sexual health clinic promptly for diagnosis and treatment.
2. Treatment options include prescription creams, freezing (cryotherapy), burning (electrocautery), laser, or surgical removal. These remove the warts but not the virus itself, so warts may return.
3. Avoid sexual activity until treated, inform partners, and don’t try to remove the bumps yourself. If you get pain, swelling, fever, or trouble urinating, seek urgent care. Early treatment helps prevent complications and reduces the risk of spreading the virus.
Thanks
