Hello Doctor,
I took a home pregnancy test, and it came back positive, but I've since taken several more tests that were negative, along with a blood test that was also negative. I'm confused and wondering if I could still be pregnant. What does this mean?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. Generally, a positive pregnancy test is a reliable indicator that you might be pregnant. However, false positives and false negatives can occur for several reasons. These can include testing too early, using expired tests, or certain medical conditions that affect hormone levels.
2. Given that you've had negative results on follow-up tests, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide a thorough evaluation and help you understand what's happening. They may recommend additional tests or assessments to get a clearer picture of your situation.
Thanks
