Patient Question
Hello Doctor,
My girlfriend, who is nine months pregnant, is experiencing back pain. Would it be safe to apply a small heat wrap to her back for a short period?
Answered by Dr. Muhammad Zeitsev Bin Azman
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Heat wraps can be used safely for relieving back pain during pregnancy. However, avoid using wraps containing NSAIDs like diclofenac. Alternatively, products like Tiger Balm, which provide heat, can be used. Additionally, encourage her to take a break and rest, and a loving massage from her partner can also provide relief.
Thanks
