Hello Doctor,
I am on day 85 of my cycle and have had cramps for weeks. My cycles are irregular but never this late—my longest was 63 days. My last period on May 20th was light, likely due to travel. The last normal one was March 16th. I have high prolactin and PCOS, diagnosed after discovering a prolactinoma. Could this delay be related? Should I be concerned?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Your prolonged cycle could be due to prolactinoma, PCOS, or medications. High prolactin affects periods, and PCOS commonly causes irregular cycles. Medications like dopamine agonists can also contribute.
Next steps:
1. Consult a neurologist for prolactinoma treatment.
2. See a gynecologist or endocrinologist for PCOS evaluation.
3. Review medications that may impact your cycle.
4. Consider ultrasound and hormone tests to assess ovarian function.
A doctor can help regulate your cycle with proper treatment.
Thanks
