Hello Doctor,
I had a medical abortion on November 2, and since then, I haven’t gotten my period. On December 28, I took Meprate to induce my period. I had stomach pain in the morning and afternoon, so I took Meprate in the morning, afternoon, and night. On December 29, I took another dose in the morning, and that’s when I started bleeding and felt more stomach pain. Is this bleeding part of my period or could it be a side effect of the Meprate? I’m a bit confused, and I’d appreciate some guidance.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Based on what you’ve described, it’s possible that the bleeding you’re experiencing is a scanty period triggered by the Meprate. This can sometimes happen as a side effect. However, to be completely sure and to rule out any other potential issues, including the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy, I would recommend getting a scan to check. This will give you peace of mind and ensure everything is as it should be. If you continue to have concerns or if your symptoms worsen, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks
