Hello Doctor,
I've had irregular menstrual periods, and it’s been over a year since my last period. However, I got my period back in April 2023. After that, I had sex with my boyfriend on June 4, 2023, but I didn’t get my period in June. Then, on July 9, I started experiencing heavy vaginal bleeding that has lasted until now (July 14). I have to change my pad about 6 times a day because it gets full quickly. Recently, while taking a bath, I noticed blood running down my legs, and I felt something large, like a clot, coming out of my vagina. Is it possible that I had a miscarriage? The bleeding this time feels different from a regular period.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Yes, based on your description, it sounds like you may have experienced a spontaneous early miscarriage. However, the final determination can only be made after a proper examination of your uterus. For your safety and peace of mind, I strongly recommend that you see your gynecologist for a thorough evaluation.
Thanks
