Hello Doctor,
I am really concerned because I missed my period for 62 days, which is completely unusual for me. I’ve taken a home pregnancy test, but it came back negative. I also had a blood test to check my HCG levels, and that was negative too. I've never missed my period before. Could there be another explanation for this, and what should I do next?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Given that both your home pregnancy test and blood HCG test have come back negative, it’s possible that the cause of your missed period is not related to pregnancy. However, since your period is significantly delayed, I would recommend repeating the beta HCG test in 10 days. This can help ensure that early pregnancy is still ruled out, as sometimes it takes a while for HCG levels to rise enough to be detected in the blood or urine. In the meantime, consider other factors that could influence your cycle, such as stress, changes in weight, or underlying health conditions. If your period doesn’t return or you experience other symptoms, it may be helpful to follow up with a more comprehensive evaluation.
Thanks
