I have noticed a correlation between my high blood pressure and consuming significant amounts of sugar and starch. Specifically, when I consume less sugar, my blood pressure seems to improve, and I only need to take one quinipril pill (12.5 mg) a day. On these days, my blood pressure typically measures around 108/70 to 110/80. However, when I consume more sugar throughout the day, my blood pressure rises to around 140/80 to 146/90. Am I interpreting this correctly, or is there no direct relationship between sugar intake and blood pressure? Both of my parents had diabetes, but my recent physical exam showed a blood sugar level of 70. I'm cautious about my sugar and starch consumption because of my family history, and I want to avoid developing diabetes. Can you shed light on this?
