Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have irritable bowel syndrome with mainly diarrhea symptoms. After meals, I frequently experience cramps and an urgent need to use the restroom. Is there a medication, like Buscopan, that can be used for situations like important dinners when I can't easily access a bathroom afterward?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Indeed, there are medications that can assist in managing your symptoms. I recommend the following regimen:

Enterogermina: Take 2 tubes per day.

Smecta: Use 3 packs daily (three times a day, orally).

Sulpiride 50mg: Take 2 tablets per day (twice a day, orally).

You can continue this medication regimen for a duration of 5 days.

Thanks
