Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I had my period on 22 November. I took the emergency contraceptive pill (I-pill) on 4 December and had withdrawal bleeding on 10 December. However, I still haven't gotten my period. I even took a pregnancy test, and it came back negative. What medicine should I take now?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It’s normal for your menstrual cycle to be a bit irregular after taking emergency contraception. Since your pregnancy test is negative, it’s best to wait for your period to return. If your period doesn’t come in the next few weeks or if you experience any other symptoms, consider consulting with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.

Thanks
