Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I haven't gotten my period yet, and I took 4-5 doses of Plan B over the past 2 1/2 weeks. I know I'm not pregnant, but I'm concerned about my delayed period. What should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

First, I recommend taking a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy, even though you believe you're not pregnant. If the test is negative, you can take progesterone pills, 10mg twice a day for 5 days, to help regulate your cycle. After completing the medication, wait at least 48 hours to see if your period starts. If it doesn't, please follow up with your healthcare provider to discuss further options and potential underlying causes for the delay.

Thanks
