Patient Question

Hello Doctor

Why does my 9-month-old get a fever after a head bath? It's happened twice now with no other symptoms. He's otherwise active and normal.

Hello

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

The fever after a head bath in a 9-month-old could be due to various reasons such as temperature fluctuations, water entering the ears, or an allergic reaction to bath products. Ensure the water temperature is lukewarm and not too hot or cold. If symptoms persist, consult a pediatrician for further evaluation and guidance.

Thanks
