Hello Doctor,
My foot is really swollen, and I can’t put any weight on it. It started recently, and I don’t remember injuring it. There’s also some pain and redness. Should I be worried, and what should I do?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
It sounds like your foot swelling and inability to bear weight could indicate a possible fracture, especially if there was any recent injury. I recommend getting an X-ray to rule out a fracture. In the meantime, try to keep your foot elevated, apply ice to reduce swelling, and avoid putting weight on it. If the pain worsens or you notice numbness, severe bruising, or skin changes, seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Thanks
