Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I accidentally dropped a can on my foot, right below my toes. It took a few days for the swelling to subside, but now whenever I bend my toes, the swelling returns. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

1. An X-ray is necessary to rule out any potential fractures in your big toe.

2. Applying Voltaren gel, which contains 1% diclofenac sodium, is recommended.

3. Use the gel three times a day to manage pain and reduce inflammation.

4. Ensure you follow up with your healthcare provider for a comprehensive evaluation and to discuss the X-ray results.

This approach will help address the immediate concerns and guide further steps in your treatment plan.

Thanks
