Who is a Dietician?
A dietitian, also known as a registered dietitian (RD), is a healthcare professional who specializes in food and nutrition. Dietitians work with individuals and groups to develop personalized nutrition plans to promote health and prevent disease.
Dietitians can work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, community organizations, and private practice. They provide counseling and education on a range of topics related to nutrition, such as healthy eating habits, weight management, and disease prevention.
To become a registered dietitian, one must complete a bachelor's degree in dietetics or a related field, followed by a supervised practice program and passing a national exam. Dietitians are also required to complete continuing education to maintain their registration and stay up-to-date with the latest research and practices in the field.
