Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I'm 29, 5'7", and weigh 98 lbs. I eat four meals a day but can't keep weight on. I’ve used prohormones, steroids (Test Cyp, Dbol), and SARMs (LGD-4033, MK-677) over the years. I gained weight while on them but lost it all after stopping. I also don’t grow facial hair. Recently, an MRI showed I’m missing my bicep tendon. Could there be a medical reason for my weight issues? What tests should I get?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

A thyroid screening is recommended to rule out metabolic issues. Given your history, a hormonal panel (testosterone, LH, FSH, TSH, T3/T4, SHBG) is also essential. Your past substance use may have affected your endocrine system. Consult an endocrinologist and a primary care provider for a full evaluation and guidance on safe weight management.

Thanks
