Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

Is it normal for one of my tonsils to be bigger than the other and to have tonsil stones? I have no irritations, just that one looks more swollen than the other.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It’s sometimes normal, but not always. A thorough examination of your lymph nodes is necessary. If there are concerns, a tonsillectomy might be recommended, and the tissue can be sent for histopathological analysis. Additional tests may also help determine if they are normal or require further attention.

Thanks
