Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've had enlarged lymph nodes for years. I recently had an ultrasound and chest x-ray, but the results are pending. Over the past 24 hours, I've had difficulty swallowing and feel like something is lodged in my throat. Food is getting stuck when I eat. I'm hesitant to rush to the hospital unless absolutely necessary.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Try gargling with warm water mixed with a pinch of salt twice a day for one week. This may help alleviate your difficulty in swallowing. It's also important to maintain good hydration and avoid foods that may aggravate the condition. However, if the problem persists or worsens, it's crucial to follow up with further medical evaluation. Enlarged lymph nodes and difficulty swallowing can be symptoms of various underlying conditions that require proper diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks
