Hello Doctor,
What could be the solution? I have been experiencing red gum swelling on my teeth for a month. It is not causing me any pain or discomfort, and there has been no increase in size since it initially appeared.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Red gums can be a result of gingival inflammation known as gingivitis, a common and mild form of gum disease. It causes irritation, redness, and sometimes swelling of the gingiva. Poor oral hygiene is often the cause of this problem, so it is important to visit the dentist for routine cleaning (scaling and polishing) and check-ups. Additionally, you can brush your teeth twice a day for at least 1 minute with fluoride toothpaste using a soft brush. Be gentle with brushing because the gum is sensitive due to inflammation, and remember to floss. Initially, you may notice some bleeding from the gums, but it should reduce over time. If the problem persists despite improved oral hygiene, it may be due to a systemic disease or the intake of certain medications.
Thanks
