Hello Doctor,
I have a cluster of red, painful, itchy lumps with a white center on my cheeks. They appeared a week ago; initially, there were 4 or 5 on the right side of my temple, but now there are clusters on both sides. I feel warmth and itchiness, and there's pain when I touch them. Last week, I shaved my face as usual with a twinkle razor and then applied a homemade mask of chickpea and rice flour, along with light toothpaste and mouthwash. There’s no oozing or fever, and this is my first time experiencing something like this.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the response to your query below.
It sounds like you are experiencing a dermatological condition, which could be due to various reasons such as an allergic reaction, acne, folliculitis, or a skin infection. The warmth and itchiness you're feeling may be due to inflammation of the skin, while the pain could result from pressure on the underlying tissues. The recent use of a homemade mask and razor might have contributed to this condition. The razor could have caused minor skin abrasions, providing an entry point for bacteria, and the mask may have caused an allergic reaction or irritation.
However, without a physical examination, it's difficult to make a definite diagnosis. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment as soon as possible. In the meantime, refrain from touching the affected area, keep it clean, and avoid using any home remedies or new skin products until you've been evaluated.
Thanks
