Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I applied Candidox cream to an abscess on my face for three days. Now, the affected skin is lightly burning. Could you please suggest some home remedies? Is it okay to use Boroline for a cure?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

I'm sorry to hear about the discomfort you're experiencing. Candidox cream contains an antifungal agent typically used for treating fungal skin infections. Its application to an abscess by mistake may have irritated your skin, causing the burning sensation.

Here are some home remedies to help soothe your skin:

Cold Compress: Apply a clean cloth soaked in cold water to the affected area for 15 minutes several times a day to reduce inflammation and soothe the burning sensation.

Aloe Vera: Apply Aloe Vera gel, especially from a plant, to the affected area. Aloe Vera has natural cooling and healing properties that can help soothe irritation.

Hydration: Keep the skin moisturized using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to prevent further dryness and irritation.

Regarding Boroline, it is a popular antiseptic cream in India often used for treating dry skin, minor cuts, and burns. While it may help soothe the skin, it's essential to note that it's not a cure for skin irritations or infections.

If your skin does not improve or if the burning sensation worsens, please schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible for a professional evaluation. It's crucial to have your skin assessed by a healthcare professional to avoid potential complications.

Thanks
