Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m a 37-year-old woman and I’ve been experiencing constant itching on my skin for the past month. I don’t have any allergies, but the itching doesn’t seem to go away. Could you help me understand what might be causing this and if I should be concerned?

Hello

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Itching can be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from visible rashes or skin conditions to those that are not immediately visible. Sometimes, persistent itching can also be related to internal conditions such as liver problems, kidney issues, or hormonal imbalances.

Since you’ve been experiencing this for a month without any obvious cause, it’s important to have a thorough examination to identify any underlying issues. If the itching persists or worsens, I recommend seeing a healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment.

Thanks
