Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

Are my blind comedones leaving scars? I had them for 2 years, and despite attempts by my doctor to extract them, they were deep and solid, requiring laser treatment. After the procedure, there are holes, with one being particularly large. I've attached pictures, one from the day of the procedure and the other from today, one week later. My doctor says it will take time to heal, but I'm concerned about scarring.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query

1. Nature of Blind Comedones:

Blind comedones are typically deep-seated blackheads without a visible head, making extraction challenging.

2. Treatment Attempts:

Extraction: Your doctor attempted extraction multiple times without success due to the depth of the comedones.

Laser Treatment: Laser treatment was performed to open up the skin and facilitate extraction.

3. Post-Procedure Observations:

Holes:Following the procedure, noticeable holes were left on the skin, with one being particularly large.

4. Healing Process:

Current Condition: It has been one week since the procedure, and the healing process is ongoing.

Doctor's Assessment: Your doctor suggests that the healing process may take time.

Thanks
