Hello Doctor,
I am experiencing horrible periods with symptoms such as anxiety, diarrhea, nausea, and cramps. I am 18 years old and do not take birth control or any other types of pills. I lead an active lifestyle and do not have any other health issues, but my periods are extremely challenging for me. I spend most of the day in bed, feeling like I am going to throw up. Additionally, I experience high levels of anxiety and paranoia during this time. While I understand that some degree of PMS is normal, how can I reduce these symptoms?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
First of all, it is important to study. My suggestion is to start an oral contraceptive with a low or ultra-low dose of hormones in order to decrease the symptoms.
Thanks
