Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m 33 years old, and my period was supposed to start on January 27th. On that day, I had some bloody discharge, but since then, I’ve only seen a few drops of blood. It hasn’t turned into a full period. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

There are a few possible reasons for the light bleeding, including hormonal changes, stress, or implantation bleeding if there’s a chance of pregnancy. I recommend taking a pregnancy test to rule that out. Additionally, getting an ultrasound scan can help check for any underlying issues like ovarian cysts, fibroids, or other gynecological concerns. If the irregular bleeding continues or you experience any pain or other symptoms, follow up with your doctor for further evaluation.

Thanks
