Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I was given a prescription for methylprednisolone, but I only got the medication in the evening. Should I take all six pills for the day now, or should I start taking them in the morning?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Evening Administration: Methylprednisolone, being a steroid, is often recommended for evening administration due to potential sedation effects.

Timing Concerns: If you received the prescription at night, it is acceptable to start taking the medication during that time.

Regular Schedule: For subsequent days, continue taking the pills at the time that best aligns with your schedule.

Missing a Dose: Missing one dose is generally not a significant concern. Resume your regular dosing schedule the next day.

Monitoring for Adverse Effects: Pay attention to any unexpected reactions or side effects. If concerns arise, consult with your healthcare provider promptly.

Thanks
