Hello Doctor,
I have non-painful external hemorrhoids that just won’t go away. They’ve been there for a while, and I’ve tried over-the-counter treatments, but nothing seems to work. What can I do to resolve this?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. If your external hemorrhoids persist despite trying home remedies and over-the-counter treatments, it’s best to consult a surgeon. A surgeon can assess the severity of your hemorrhoids and recommend appropriate treatments, which could include minimally invasive procedures like rubber band ligation or sclerotherapy. In more severe cases, surgical removal might be necessary.
2. To manage symptoms in the meantime, maintain a high-fiber diet, stay hydrated, and try warm sitz baths to reduce discomfort. However, for lasting relief, visiting a surgeon is the most effective course of action.
Thanks
