Hello Doctor,
I went to a really loud concert two days ago, and since then, my ears have been ringing nonstop. It’s a high-pitched sound that doesn’t go away, and it’s starting to get really annoying. I don’t have any pain, but my ears feel kind of full. Will this go away on its own, or should I be worried? Is there anything I can do to make it stop?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. It sounds like you may be experiencing temporary or possibly prolonged tinnitus due to noise exposure from the concert. In many cases, this ringing can subside on its own within a few days, but if it persists, it’s important to take action. I strongly recommend scheduling a hearing test with an experienced audiologist who specializes in tinnitus management. They can assess any potential damage and guide you on the best treatment options.
2. In the meantime, try to avoid loud noises, reduce caffeine and alcohol intake, and consider using white noise or relaxing sounds to help mask the ringing. If you notice any hearing loss, dizziness, or worsening symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
Thanks
