Hello Doctor,
I feel a buzzing sound in my ear whenever I go to bed and try to sleep. The sound becomes strong when I wake up. This started after withdrawing myself from panic attack medicine. Now it has been almost 2 years since I stopped those medicines after a prolonged use of 2 years. Also, if I use a pillow, the sound becomes strong. I have slight pain in the neck as well. Is it cervical tinnitus or the side effects of that panic attack medicine? I am a 51-year-old male, weigh 72 kg, and am 6 feet tall.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
It seems like you need to undergo a hearing evaluation to rule out hearing loss causing your tinnitus. As a natural remedy, please try to keep your environment filled with auditory sound, such as background music, radio noise, or fan noise, so you can distract yourself from the sound within your brain. Additionally, please try not to focus too much on the sound, as this can aggravate the issue further.
Thanks
