Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

It's just that I've been having short chest pains on both sides, especially a sharp pain on the left side that lasts only 5 seconds, but the discomfort lasts longer. I also feel shortness of breath. It's been happening for over 2 weeks. My heart feels heavy, and I also have pain in my left hand, but I don't think it's related. I just want to know if I should be worried. I'm a 15-year-old female.

Thankyou!

Usually, complaints like yours occur with superficial nerve or muscle inflammation. However, in any case, it is necessary to exclude heart diseases, such as myocarditis or endocarditis. To do this, at a minimum, you need to undergo an ECG or echocardiography of the heart.

Please tell a trusted adult about your symptoms, and seek medical advice from a healthcare professional. They can properly assess your condition, perform any necessary tests, and provide you with the appropriate treatment or advice. Your health is essential, so don't hesitate to reach out for help.
