Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I am experiencing pain while pooping, and I've noticed blood in my feces. Additionally, after I go to the bathroom, something seems to be popping out that I feel I need to push back inside. Can you please help me understand what might be happening and what steps I should take?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Based on your description, it sounds like you may be experiencing hemorrhoids, commonly referred to as piles. These are swollen blood vessels located in the terminal anal canal, often resulting from increased pressure due to factors such as constipation, prolonged sitting, or obesity.

From what you've described, it appears that you have Grade 4 hemorrhoids, also known as prolapsed piles, which may require medical attention. I recommend consulting a general surgeon for a thorough evaluation and potential treatment options for a complete cure.

In the meantime, you may be prescribed medications to provide symptomatic relief for your discomfort.

Thanks
