Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I was diagnosed with anxiety and mania two years ago and was prescribed Asprito 2 mg. I stopped taking it, but a few months ago, my anxiety returned. I started taking Arpizol 5 mg, but now I'm experiencing severe insomnia and restlessness. What should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Your symptoms could be a consequence of a lack of therapeutic effect or an adverse reaction to aripiprazole. Regardless of the exact cause, you need to be examined by a psychiatrist to adjust your treatment and be monitored by a professional physician to assess the evolution of your case. The information you provided is sufficient to determine that your treatment has not been successful. It is crucial for you to have a thorough evaluation by a psychiatrist. A professional assessment will help determine the root cause of your symptoms and guide necessary adjustments to your medication. This process often involves a detailed review of your medical history, current symptoms, and how you have responded to different treatments in the past.

Thanks
