How to Treat Fungal Nail Infection?

Medical Treatment:
  • Keep the feet dry and clean and wear clean socks
  • Do not share your towels, scissors or nail clippers with others
  • Wear flip flops in the gym or pool showers
  • Do not wear old shoes
  • Treat athletes foot as soon as possible to avoid it spreading to nails
  • Avoid wear other people shoes
  • See your GP, if severe and treatment has not worked and the infection spread other nails
  • They may prescribe a antifungal tablets (regularly take this upto 6 months)
  • It is not suitable for pregnant women
  • More infected nails are sometimes removed
  • Laser treatment - to destroy fungus
  • See a foot specialist if you have diabetes
