Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I hope this message finds you well. After completing IPL and laser treatment for my face, I still have some remaining fine hairs. Could you please advise me on a procedure to completely remove these hairs, ensuring the follicles are destroyed entirely? I'm concerned about the hairs returning. Can I undergo additional sessions or is there another solution available?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It's important to understand that while these treatments are effective in reducing hair growth, they may not completely destroy the hair follicles. Complete destruction of follicles carries the risk of scarring, which is why such approaches are typically avoided.

In your case, if you still have some fine hairs remaining after treatment, there are a few options to consider. Firstly, additional treatment sessions may be necessary to target any remaining hairs and further reduce their growth. These sessions can help to manage any regrowth and maintain the results achieved from the initial treatment.

Alternatively, if you're looking for a more permanent solution, there are other hair removal methods available that may be suitable for your needs. These options can include electrolysis or prescription medications that target hair growth.

However, it's important to discuss these options further with a qualified healthcare professional to determine the best course of action based on your individual circumstances and preferences.

In addition to treatment options, it's also essential to consider maintenance strategies to prolong the results of your hair removal treatment. Regular maintenance sessions, typically scheduled every 6 months, can help to manage any regrowth and ensure long-term satisfaction with your results.

Thanks
