Hello, Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Based on your description, there could be several possible causes for your foot condition. The redness around your toe area and the presence of a sore could indicate an infection, possibly a bacterial one such as cellulitis or a fungal infection like athlete's foot. It's also possible that this could be a result of a pressure sore. The unpleasant smell you mentioned could be associated with a fungal infection or it could result from excessive sweating and lack of proper foot hygiene. However, it's important to note that without a proper examination by a healthcare professional, it's difficult to determine the exact cause. I would recommend consulting a Dermatologist who can provide a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. They may prescribe antifungal or antibacterial medications, suggest proper foot hygiene practices, or recommend other interventions based on the specific cause of the issue. In the meantime, maintain good foot hygiene, keep your feet dry and clean, and avoid wearing tight shoes.
