Hello Doctor,
I have noticed facial asymmetry since puberty, and I am now 24. One side of my face sometimes looks "dead" when I see myself talking in a video, like it’s more blocked. My nose is extremely asymmetric, and my lips and nose seem to be the most affected. I’ve had this since puberty, but I’m wondering if there’s any reason to be worried now. Could this be something I should seek medical advice about?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Yes, it’s important to seek medical advice. You should visit a qualified physician to rule out any underlying conditions that could be causing the facial asymmetry. The doctor may recommend certain investigations or blood tests to help identify any potential causes. If no medical condition is found, you may want to consult a plastic surgeon to discuss possible options for addressing the asymmetry.
Thanks
