Patient Question

My 6-year-old son had 7 teeth extracted today and has taken Motrin and Tylenol, but they don't appear to be alleviating his pain. Are there any other options we can consider?

You can give Tylenol every 4 hours, making sure not to surpass 5 doses in a day, and Motrin every 6 hours. If your child has already had both medications, wait 4 hours before administering another dose of Tylenol. Additionally, applying ice to the area can provide relief from pain and swelling.
