Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

Why am I nauseous 24/7? I am six weeks pregnant today, and I have been constantly nauseous for the past couple of weeks. During the first few weeks, I would only feel nauseous when in a car for an extended period, but now I feel nauseous from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. It has become challenging for me to eat or drink anything. So, my question is, are there any tips or tricks to alleviate the nausea?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

That is because your hormone levels (from the yellow corpuscle in the ovary) used to maintain the pregnancy inside your uterus are too high. This condition will continue for at least a couple of months. You can start with medication: 20 drops of metoclopramide every 8 hours with a few sips of water could be effective. Another measure is to eat or drink small portions with increased frequency.

Thanks
