Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) encompasses various lung conditions marked by ongoing respiratory symptoms like dyspnea, cough, sputum production, and exacerbations. These symptoms stem from airway abnormalities such as bronchitis or bronchiolitis, and/or alveolar issues like emphysema, leading to persistent airflow obstruction that may deteriorate over time. Primary risk factors include tobacco smoking and exposure to harmful particles.
