Hello Doctor,
I've had this half piece of gum stuck in my throat for a few months. It hasn’t really bothered me much unless my throat gets dry. I know that it's stuck because if I try hard enough, I can move my tongue to see the piece stuck. Can someone tell me if this is life-threatening and how can I remove it without going to the doctor?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Unfortunately, attempting to remove the gum on your own could be risky and may not be effective.
It's important to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist for a proper examination.
They can assess the situation and safely remove the foreign object if necessary. It's always best to seek professional help to avoid any potential complications.
Thanks
