How to Treat Ebola?

What is Ebola?

Ebola, an illness known for its severity and high mortality rate, is caused by the Ebola virus, a member of the Filoviridae family. The virus is transmitted from wild animals to humans and can further spread through human-to-human transmission. Commonly referred to as Ebola virus disease (EVD), this infectious ailment native to Africa is characterized by symptoms including fever, severe headache, muscle pain, fatigue, diarrhea, and unexplained bleeding or bruising, culminating in hemorrhagic fever and severe outcomes such as organ failure and mortality.

Why Ebola Occurs?

The Ebola virus is believed to be transmitted to humans through direct contact with the blood, secretions, organs, or other bodily fluids of infected animals such as fruit bats, chimpanzees, and monkeys. Once the virus enters the human population, it can spread through human-to-human transmission via direct contact with the blood, secretions, organs, or other bodily fluids of infected individuals. Healthcare workers and family members caring for infected individuals are particularly at risk.
