Medical Treatment:
Do the following things to free the stone yourself:
  • Sucking on a lemon or lemon drops
  • Take plenty of water
  • Gently massaging around the stone
  • Avoid using a sharp tool to remove the stone because it can cause injury and infection
  • Suck ice cubes or ice lollies, if you have pain and swelling
  • Take painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen
  • See your GP if you are not able to remove the stone by yourself or the stone has caused an infection (such as you feel hot and shivery, redness or pus around the stone, and pain)
