Medical Treatment: Things you can do your child or baby at home
- Give them plenty of fluids
- Check your child regularly at night
- Look for dehydration signs
- Keep them at home
- Do not give paracetamol under 2 months baby
- Do not give ibuprofen under 3 months baby or under 5kg and children who have asthma
- Do not undress or sponge your child down to cool them
- Do not cover them up in too many clothes or bedclothes
- Unless your GP tells you to, do not combine ibuprofen and paracetamol, and should not give aspirin to under the age of 16
- If your child is under 3 months old and has 38C or higher temperature and 3 to 6 months old baby has 39C or higher temperature and your baby have other illness signs, like a rash, as well as a high temperature
