How to Treat DiGeorge Syndrome?


Medical Treatment:
  • No cure for DiGeorge syndrome. If required, Children and adults with the condition will be closely displayed to check problems and these can be treated as they occur
For instance, somebody with the condition might be:
  • Regular blood tests, heart tests, hearing tests, height, and weight measurements
  • Before starting school, evaluate their development and learning skills - If your child has a learning disability, they may need additional support at a mainstream school or they may benefit from special school attendance
  • Physiotherapy for strength and movement problems, and devices like shoe inserts (orthoses) for leg pains
  • Speech therapy to help with speech problems and dietary changes to help with feeding difficulties
  • Surgery for more severe problems
