How to Treat Viral Infection?

What is a Viral Infection?

A viral infection is a commonplace event occurring when viruses, tiny infectious agents, invade and proliferate within host cells. These unique entities lack the cellular structure found in bacteria or fungi, comprising genetic material (DNA or RNA) surrounded by a protein coat called a capsid. Viruses, incapable of independent replication, necessitate a host cell for reproduction. Consequently, viral infections manifest as diseases initiated by these minuscule organisms, exploiting host cells for replication. Although respiratory and digestive illnesses are commonly linked with viral infections, these microscopic entities exhibit the capacity to infiltrate and impact various other parts of the body.

Why Do Viral Infections Occur?

Viral infections occur when viruses enter the body through various means, such as respiratory droplets, direct contact with infected individuals, or contact with contaminated surfaces. Once inside the body, viruses attach to host cells and inject their genetic material. The infected host cell then undergoes changes, producing new viruses that can spread to other cells and cause infection.

The immune system typically responds to viral infections by recognizing and attacking the viruses. However, some viruses can evade the immune response, leading to persistent or recurrent infections.
